Pack 599 Pinewood Derby Weigh-in

Bring in those cars and get a sneak peek at everyone else's cars!  We'll have 
scales & weights to help every car get's into that target weight range.

If you can not drop your car off between 6:30 and 7:45PM, you can drop it off 
earlier at Lee Jimerson's home at 5548 SW 18th Drive.  Just leave it by the 
front door if no one is home.  Make sure to include your Scout's name, rank (
tiger, bear, etc) and the name he has given the car (such as "speed racer").  If 
you drop the car off and it is overweight, the car will not be eligble to 
win, but can still race.
 
The Pinewood Derby welcomes all family members (grand parents especially!) 
and friends to come cheer on their scouts.  This is a great meeting to bring a 
friend to and introduce them to Scouting.
 
The format for the evening will similar to last year.
 
We will have two tracks this year! The main race track will be for running 
all of the competitive heats.  The second track will be for informal racing 
heats with your friends one you have finished with your competitive heats.
 
1st, 2nd & 3rd place ribbons for all in the first competive heat.
 
We will race down to a final 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Pack winner, with a trophy 
for 1st, and medals for 2nd and 3rd.
 
There will be a closest to target event as well, once you finish your 
competitive heats.  No ribbons for this, just bragging rights.
 
It takes a lot of adult manpower to run an effective derby.  There will be a 
volunteer sheet at weigh-in for race night.  Please sign up to help out.

We'll see you all there and at the Derby - 7pm Wednesday Night St Andrew's 
Gym.  Don't be late - you don't want to miss a bit of the action!
