Pack 599 Committee Meeting

Sunday December 5th

 

Present:  Rob Coats. Susan Kuznitsky, Mike Venti, Troy & Elena Miller, Karen Horkitz, Cindy Duley, Sandy Castles, Mark Sandifer, Meg Albright, Dave Anderson

 

Derby Talk - Date January 20th

          We have invited the kids from Pack 41 to join us for our Pinewood Derby, since they don’t have a track and there are only 12 of them.  We will ask them top provide a grown-up or two for set up.

          The weekend before the derby (15th or 16th) we will hold a stand building party and car workshop at Dave’s house.  The workshop is available to anyone who needs some help with their car. 

Weigh-in will be Tuesday 12/18 from approx 6:30-8pm.  Mark will assist with weigh-in.  Cindy will arrange space rental thru CUB and let everyone know final details. 

          Rob Coats will come up with at least one, preferably two scales for weigh in and race night.

          Linda Venti will talk with Papa John’s & see about getting a couple of pizza’s donated to feed the set-up crew on the 20th.

          Dave will print up certificates.

          Races will be:         Standard speed race – Winner each heat

                             Against the Wall – Winner each heat

                             Hit the Target – Winner each heat

                             Down the Hall – One overall winner

 

Money Talk

          Each den leader needs to collect dues from their scouts who haven’t yet paid!  We need that money to help with re-chartering expenses.

          Dave had good experiences with Key bank and their policies and would like the pack to see if their accounts might suit our needs better.  Karen will have Jon look into this.

 

December Pack Meeting

          The order of the Arrow Scouts will be on hand to perform the ceremony for our 2nd year Webelos who have earned their Arrow of Light.  We also have 5 scouts receiving their Bobcat badge at this meeting. 

          Webelos I will be doing flag.  Troy is in charge of a game.  Jon Crumrine will award prizes for wreath sales.  Chris Brentlinger will speak about our upcoming winter adventure.  Santa will distribute derby cars.

 

The December Pack Meeting is at Hayhurst 12/16 7pm. 

This is yet another change!

 

January Committee Meeting tentatively scheduled for Sunday January 9th Hillsdale Pub 7pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
